Q: What do I get after I've paid for a license?
You get an activation key sent by email. With this key you can activate your
paid licenses. The key will be sent manually, nevertheless you will have within a couple of hours.
You also will get an invoice attached to the email.
Q: How is a license bound?
Since Reference Scanner 2.84 we use floating licenses. Such a license is bound to a running Java Virtual Machine (JVM) in a local area network (LAN).
If you own 2 licenses then you can use Reference Scanner in 2 JVMs at the same time.
If the 2 JVMs would run at different times each then you need only one license.
Q: What happens if I start a second JVM using the same license?
If the first JVM is still up and running and you use an activation key for a single license only
then the second JVM will exit on startup and will dump to the console
which other JVM on which machine in the local area network uses the same key right now.
Q: Where can I enter the activation key?
Open the Reference Scanner start page in the web browser and follow the upgrade link to the right side.
Q: Does Reference Scanner require registration?
No. Since we use floating licenses there is no registration and no internet connection required anymore.
Q: How can I pay for a license?
We accept credit cards and bank transfer by Ebay's PayPal service.
Simply click on one of the product buttons above, fill out the form and submit it.
An alternate payment method to PayPal is direct Bank Transfer
via IBAN/BIC. Send us an email for details.
Q: Can you send me an invoice first?
Yes. You can request the invoice by sending us an email.
The activation key will be sent upon payment of the invoice.
Q: Can I pay in my currency?
Although the prices are listed in Euro you can pay in every currency
which is supported by PayPal. Of course US Dollar, Canadian Dollar, Pound Sterling,
Yen, Australian Dollar, more.
